Meet the Family
Tate - Banjo, Lead Guitar, Vocals
Tate (19) started playing banjo at age 9 and then started the guitar sometime after his 10th birthday. He has now added resophonic guitar (aka dobro) to the list of instruments he plays. He does most of the music arrangements for the band and leads band practice as well as produces the band's recordings. He loves to hunt and listen to bluegrass music (big shock!) Tate's favorite foods are mexican, barbecue, pie, cobbler and homestyle cooking. He married Kelsi Arnold on October 29th of this year. Kelsi is joining the band on tour. She is a great singer and is also very talented on the piano and plays the guitar. (Be watching for Kelsi's own spot on the website)
Jase - Fiddle, Vocals, full time FISHERMAN
Jase (16) started learning the fiddle when he was 6 years old. Over the next few years, he put it down and picked it up many times. At about the age of 10 he really started to get serious (well, as serious as he can get) about being a fiddle player. He listens to many different fiddle players and knows lots of bluegrass trivia. He co-wrote "When He Got Up", which is on our CD, Sing On. He loves to fish every spare moment and is very excited to get to fish with the "locals" along our way. Jase's favorite foods are barbecue and bananas.
Katie - Mandolin, Vocals
Katie (14) has always loved to sing and would get up and sing one with the family about the time she was 4 years old. When she turned 8, she picked up the mandolin and by the time she was 11, she was playing music with our family as a regular band member. On our CD, Sing On, she wrote the instrumental, "Exodus". Katie loves to read christian books and make custom jewelry. She has jewelry for sale at most of our concerts. She takes after the Greer side of the family with her love for ice cream.
John Rob - Upright Bass, Vocals, DAD
John Rob (Dad) has been singing for many years and playing the bass for 10. He is in charge of getting our family to every destination by driving and keeping the vehicles road-ready. He is also the main speaker during our concerts and keeps the music moving along with his steady rhythm. John Rob loves to hunt and fish. He does not like to go to the mall. Some of his favorite foods are barbecue, asian, and mexican. His favorite desert is apple crisp with ice cream.
Kathie - Guitar, Vocals, MOM, Songwriter
Kathie (Mom) started singing in church as a child and has always loved to sing. Growing up, she learned to play the piano, organ and clarinet. At age 16, she played piano and sang at the Pomme de Terre Opry. She has been playing rhythm guitar for 10 years and currently plays a Bourgeois Vintage-D. She loves to songwrite and quilt. All of the lyrics from the CD, Sing On were written by Kathie. She loves barbecue and seafood and anything sweet (with coffee).
